Land Acknowledgement and our Commitment

Clearline Safety and our people, live and work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of many Indigenous Peoples across what is now called Canada. Our head office is in Calgary, Alberta, on Treaty 7 Nations land: including the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Tsuut’ina, and Îyâxe Nakoda Nations; as well as the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.

This work is personal to us; our leadership team grew up on Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and in Powell River; lands rich with Indigenous cultures, histories, and teachings, and this has influenced how we want to work. Furthermore, as a Safety company, we believe that safety goes well beyond physical safety.  It includes cultural safety, emotional safety, and the right to live and work in dignity and with respect.

At Clearline Safety, we are committed to meeting our clients and partners where they are and in doing so, building lifelong relationships, supporting communities and their continual efforts to grow capacity.

We have seen and still see, the lasting impacts of colonization on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples and their communities.  These traumas have been imposed by Canada’s Indian Policies, which still include Canada’s Indian Act, the Indian Reserve System and the residual impacts of 165 years of the Indian Residential School System. We are committed to being active participants in positive change, not just through words, but through our own humility and ability to continue to listen, learn and act in ways that honours the rights, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous communities.
